Cabinet 9 mm thin wall BBC specification selected grade Baltic Birch ply sealed back cabinet made by Italian craftsmen, c. 1975 vintage Tygan grille cloth woven at Lothersdale Mill in Yorkshire England, and finished in natural English Burr Elm veneer.

The film has been out of production for over 25 years, so this is a rare opportunity to hear what the BBC intended the LS3/5A to sound like.
Inductors Falcon UK Manufactured BBC R&D Spec transformer inductors. These are about double the size of standard production inductors generally available, and provide better saturation characteristics, lower distortion and improved bass response.
Resistors Ohmite NI Audio Gold resistors. USA made especially designed for high-end loudspeaker and amplifier applications. These high-quality wound resistors have been carefully engineered with non-magnetic materials to eliminate the effects of stray magnetic fields on performance, resulting in simplified shielding requirements and improved sound quality.
PCB Gold plated Arlon25N multi-layer 1.6mm heavyweight PCB. Arlon 25N is renowned for ultra low dielectric loss and maximum signal stability. Rarely seen in audio equipment due to cost, and used historically in ultra high-end pre-amplifiers and phono stages, the properties of Arlon 25N create maximum sonic accuracy and lowest possible noise floor for exceptional clarity. The addition of gold plated 2oz tracking creates a PCB with clearly audible sonic benefits particularly in the midrange.
