Seas 27TDFC H1189-06 Tweeter is a Prestige Series 26mm 6ohm High Definition precoated fabric dome tweeter with soft wide Sonomax low resonance high linearity polymer surround, together with a Sonotex precoated lightweight fabric diaphragm with high consistency and excellent stability against variations in air humidity.
The voice coil windings use ferro fluid for increased power handling capacity and reduced compression at high power levels. A rigid rear chamber with optimal acoustic damping allows the tweeter to be used with moderately low crossover frequencies.
The chassis is moulded from a stiff and stable glass fibre reinforced polymer material, and its front design offers optimum radiation conditions.

Great tweeter at this price point by Simon
The virtues of this driver are chiefly its smooth, sweet sound character, together with its ease of crossover implementation, and flexibility.
The sound is commendably natural for this price level. It is smooth and unfatiguing: ideal for those longer listening sessions. There is just a small rise in the response around 12kHz, which gives (IMO) a slight yet pleasant 'sparkle' to the top end. Resolution is about as good as can be expected of a driver of this cost.
Thanks to the Ferro fluid coil immersion, the free air resonance Q is sufficiently low to allow a second order crossover down to about 2.25kHz without the need for a resonance trap circuit. (Assuming the tweeter will be driven at moderate SPL's.) It will even work well down as low as 1500Hz: provided at least a third order crossover is used, preferably with a resonance trap. (By contrast, many, if not most other tweeters, become ragged sounding if used much below 2.5kHz.)
Summary:
> Good overall sound for the money.
> Easy to implement: making it ideal for beginners.
> Flexibility: allowing a wide range of crossover frequencies. (Posted on 10/05/2018) -
To sum this driver, Excellent! by five rivers
I am having a first go at a DIY project, and after careful deliberation decided on this tweeter driver. This driver sounds superb, and delivers an accurate, precise and sublime sound. If this tweeter is within your ideal price range, I recommend that this driver be considered. Thanks to Falcon Acoustics for a swift transaction, you will be my one stop shop. (Posted on 23/04/2014)
