Restoring a CELESTION DITTON 44 MK 1
The Celestion Ditton 44 Mk 1 is an iconic 1970s British 3-way loudspeaker celebrated for its rich, musical sonic profile. Encased in a heavy, high-quality timber veneer cabinet, it pairs the renowned HF2000 dome tweeter with a dedicated cone midrange driver and a robust 12-inch long-throw woofer. This driver synergy yields sweet, airy highs, a natural midrange, and deep, room-filling bass response. A true vintage classic, the Ditton 44 delivers effortlessly dynamic sound across any genre.
The Missing Component
When servicing vintage Celestion drivers, it is important to note that original factory technical specifications for many of these components were never published.
As a high-volume manufacturer during this era, Celestion’s production model was optimized for large-scale original equipment supply cycles. Consequently, the company did not prioritize the release of public technical data sheets or third-party component-level repair support for its legacy driver range.
We do not offer a replacement for the mid and bass drive units, for this you'll need to go to the secondhand market.
