Scanspeak 18WU/8747T00 Woofer - Illuminator Range 8 Ohm version. Illuminator woofers have a very distinctive design approach, featuring compact under-hung motor systems with large neodymium ring magnets powering the Copper capped Scanspeak SD-3 Symmetrical Drive.
The Illuminator motor in this unit has exceptional long linear excursion together with a very high force factor. The top plate is shaped to “guide” the backside airflow around the motor and with the open cast aluminum chassis design the driver is virtually free from compression.
The overall effect from the black anodised aluminium cone and one-piece dust cap (see picture) is simply outstanding results of the highest quality.
