Product Description

Alcap 50VDC Low Loss Electrolytic Capacitor non-polarised reversible series are a high quality low loss capacitor range with ESR and high ripple current capability. 63V surge. Recommended for high efficiency applications, e.g. a series feed to a high power and/or low efficiency tweeter where they are extensively specified by OEM manufacturers.  Larger than the Standard 50V range, but give a significant enhancement to audio performance.  Very similar in sonic character and physical size to black ELCAP Low Loss type OEM capacitors. Loss Factor D <0.05 @ 1kHz

    1. Alcap Low Loss Electrolytics Comment by Andrew

To my ears, the Alcap Low Loss series range of electrolytic seem to impart a smooth and musical character to the sound. Sure, they are not the last word in detail, but boy, what a lovely open midrange and rounded character they seem to have which makes music so much more easy and enjoyable to listen to. I have compared these with generic polypropylene and also Solen polypropylene capacitors in both Celestial Lxxx series speakers and also Realistic Minimus 7 modifications with the same result....the Poly's sounding sounding slightly sterile and maybe TOO detailed, and the Alcaps just sounding more natural, to my ears anyway.
